Your adventure begins with an early departure from your Marrakech accommodation at approximately 7 a.m., taking you across the majestic High Atlas Mountains and over Morocco’s highest pass, Tizi N’Tichka, standing at an altitude of 2260 meters. Our journey continues along the historic caravan route towards Telouet, where you’ll explore the opulent Kasbah Glaoui. From there, we’ll traverse the scenic Ounila Valley nestled at the mountain foothills.

Next, we reach the striking Ait Ben Haddou, a fortified village or ksar, perched on a hillside by the Ounila River. Within its defensive walls punctuated by corner towers and a grand gate, you’ll find an array of dwellings, from simple homes to towering structures.

The following day, after breakfast, we set off through the Sahara, journeying over a stony desert and past the desiccated Lake In Iriki, in the heart of Iriqui National Park. Spanning 123,000 hectares, this park was established in 1994 to safeguard the region’s unique biodiversity, particularly the ephemeral wetlands of Lake Iriqui.

Our expedition continues to M’hamid, a quaint oasis town in southern Morocco, offering modern amenities amidst its 7,500 residents. Here, you can savor local cuisine, shop for essentials and souvenirs, and explore the historic Ghizlan kasbah. Post-lunch, we journey to the sweeping dunes of Erg Chigaga, where you’ll immerse yourself in the desert lifestyle, spending the night in a traditional camp, complete with soul-stirring Berber music.
